CH / STUDIOReading Journal: TabMap field guide

A paper-first reading field guide

Build a Source Chain From a Bibliography

Use three linked fields: claim marker, full source, and earlier source. Keep each field brief and attach the page or chapter landmark that supports it.

Reconnect an in-text claim to the full source record and one earlier work it depends on. A compact three-anchor trail keeps the note useful when you return later or discuss it with someone using another edition.

Step 1

Anchor the location

Record the page or chapter before interpreting the moment. Add the current reading boundary when later knowledge could change the note.

Step 2

Claim marker

Record the page and shortened citation used in the text.

Step 3

Full source

Match it to the complete bibliography entry.

Step 4

Earlier source

Add one earlier source only when the cited work explicitly depends on it.
