Use this when starting a sequel after a long gap.

A full reread may be unnecessary, while a vague online recap can spoil the new book. A small memory test identifies the actual gap.

Method

Build the note

1. Read the sequel's first chapter and list only names, relationships, or events you cannot place.

2. Check your own prior-book anchors before consulting an outside recap.

3. Reread only the chapters needed to restore those gaps, then begin the sequel again.
