CH / STUDIOReading Journal: TabMap field guide

A paper-first reading field guide

Keep a Reading Log Across Audiobook and Print

Use three linked fields: format marker, shared landmark, and private cue. Keep each field brief and attach the page or chapter landmark that supports it.

Keep one reading trail when page numbers, timestamps, and chapter boundaries differ across formats. A compact three-anchor trail keeps the note useful when you return later or discuss it with someone using another edition.

Step 1

Anchor the location

Record the page or chapter before interpreting the moment. Add the current reading boundary when later knowledge could change the note.

Step 2

Format marker

Record whether the note came from audio, print, or ebook.

Step 3

Shared landmark

Add a chapter heading or scene landmark shared by each format.

Step 4

Private cue

Use a short paraphrase that helps you locate the moment again.
