A paper-first reading field guide

Map Where a Scene Happens Before Why It Matters

Use three linked fields: fixed location, movement, and choice effect. Keep each field brief and attach the page or chapter landmark that supports it.

Stabilize the physical layout of a scene before interpreting a character's choices inside it. A compact three-anchor trail keeps the note useful when you return later or discuss it with someone using another edition.

Step 1

Anchor the location

Record the page or chapter before interpreting the moment. Add the current reading boundary when later knowledge could change the note.

Step 2

Fixed location

List the few locations the text makes explicit.

Step 3

Movement

Anchor the movement that changes who can see or reach whom.

Step 4

Choice effect

Record how that position affects the next choice.
