CH / STUDIOReading Journal: TabMap field guide

A paper-first reading field guide

Resolve Two Definitions of the Same Term

Use three linked fields: definition one, definition two, and scope rule. Keep each field brief and attach the page or chapter landmark that supports it.

Notice when a book uses the same word at different scopes and prevent the meanings from collapsing together. A compact three-anchor trail keeps the note useful when you return later or discuss it with someone using another edition.

Step 1

Anchor the location

Record the page or chapter before interpreting the moment. Add the current reading boundary when later knowledge could change the note.

Step 2

Definition one

Anchor each definition where the author states or demonstrates it.

Step 3

Definition two

Record the context and scope attached to each use.

Step 4

Scope rule

Write a simple rule for which meaning applies on later pages.
