CH / STUDIOReading Journal: TabMap field guide

A paper-first reading field guide

Track a Character Who Uses More Than One Name

Use three linked fields: first name form, change point, and identity evidence. Keep each field brief and attach the page or chapter landmark that supports it.

Keep aliases, titles, nicknames, and changed names connected without merging different characters by mistake. A compact three-anchor trail keeps the note useful when you return later or discuss it with someone using another edition.

Step 1

Anchor the location

Record the page or chapter before interpreting the moment. Add the current reading boundary when later knowledge could change the note.

Step 2

First name form

Record the first name form and the page where it appears.

Step 3

Change point

Anchor the scene where another name or title is introduced.

Step 4

Identity evidence

Write the evidence that confirms or questions the connection between them.
