CH / STUDIOReading Journal: TabMap field guide

A paper-first reading field guide

Build a Chapter-Entry Question

Before the next chapter, write what remains unresolved, the page that raised it, and the smallest question that would move your reading forward.

A precise question restarts attention faster than a long recap. It also shows what the book has actually left open.

Step 1

Anchor the location

Record the page or chapter before interpreting the moment. Add the current reading boundary when later knowledge could change the note.

Step 2

Open thread

Choose one unresolved change or claim.

Step 3

Source page

Anchor it to the page that made it matter.

Step 4

Next question

Ask a question the next chapter could answer or complicate.
