CH / STUDIOReading Journal: TabMap field guide

A paper-first reading field guide

Leave a Return Note Before a Library Book Is Due

Use three linked fields: last page, worth keeping, and next access. Keep each field brief and attach the page or chapter landmark that supports it.

Preserve a useful trail before returning a borrowed book when finishing or renewing is not possible. A compact three-anchor trail keeps the note useful when you return later or discuss it with someone using another edition.

Step 1

Anchor the location

Record the page or chapter before interpreting the moment. Add the current reading boundary when later knowledge could change the note.

Step 2

Last page

Record the last completed page and chapter.

Step 3

Worth keeping

Keep one question or idea worth carrying forward.

Step 4

Next access

Note whether to borrow again, find another edition, or close the reading.
