CH / STUDIOReading Journal: TabMap field guide

A paper-first reading field guide

Make a Reading Checkpoint Before Travel

Use three linked fields: last stable page, active thread, and return move. Keep each field brief and attach the page or chapter landmark that supports it.

Leave a compact return trail before a trip or long interruption without writing a full chapter summary. A compact three-anchor trail keeps the note useful when you return later or discuss it with someone using another edition.

Step 1

Anchor the location

Record the page or chapter before interpreting the moment. Add the current reading boundary when later knowledge could change the note.

Step 2

Last stable page

Record the last page and chapter you completed.

Step 3

Active thread

Name the question, conflict, or claim still active there.

Step 4

Return move

Write the first page or section to reopen when you return.
