CH / STUDIOReading Journal: TabMap field guide

A paper-first reading field guide

Track a Book's Question Before Its Answer

Use three linked fields: question page, evidence route, and answer scope. Keep each field brief and attach the page or chapter landmark that supports it.

Follow a nonfiction question from its first framing through evidence and the eventual answer without reading backward into the opening. A compact three-anchor trail keeps the note useful when you return later or discuss it with someone using another edition.

Step 1

Anchor the location

Record the page or chapter before interpreting the moment. Add the current reading boundary when later knowledge could change the note.

Step 2

Question page

Record the question as it is framed near the beginning.

Step 3

Evidence route

Choose the few sections that supply the decisive evidence.

Step 4

Answer scope

Paraphrase the answer at the scope the ending supports.
