Track Evidence a Persuasive Book Leaves Out

Use three linked fields: claim, evidence shown, and missing check. Keep each field brief and attach the page or chapter landmark that supports it.

Make an omission visible without claiming the missing evidence would automatically disprove the argument. A compact three-anchor trail keeps the note useful when you return later or discuss it with someone using another edition.

Step 1

Anchor the location

Record the page or chapter before interpreting the moment. Add the current reading boundary when later knowledge could change the note.

Step 2

Claim

Paraphrase the claim at its actual scope.

Step 3

Evidence shown

List the evidence the chapter does provide.

Step 4

Missing check

Name one missing comparison or source that affects confidence.
