Find the Page Where an Argument Turns
Mark the last setup claim, the turn word or move, and the first conclusion that depends on it. Test whether removing the turn would break the argument.
Long chapters can hide their hinge. A three-part turn record makes the logic easier to resume and question.

Anchor the location
Record the page or chapter before interpreting the moment. Add the current reading boundary when later knowledge could change the note.
Step 2
Setup
Capture the final premise the author needs before changing direction.
Step 3
Turn
Name the move: therefore, however, if so, or an equivalent structural shift.
Step 4
Conclusion
Paraphrase the first conclusion that relies on the move.
