Record a Shift in Point of View
Record the page where viewpoint changes, the information available before it, and the new information the shift permits. Keep narrator and character knowledge distinct.
A viewpoint shift changes the reader’s access to the story. A small before-and-after record shows what the structure makes possible.
Step 1
Anchor the location
Record the page or chapter before interpreting the moment. Add the current reading boundary when later knowledge could change the note.
Step 2
Viewpoint changes
Name the old and new viewpoint using the book’s own structure.
Step 3
Known before
List one fact or impression available before the shift.
Step 4
New access
Add only the information the new viewpoint makes newly available.
